Friday Wrap Up - Charlotte Douglas International Airport Edition

CDIA Deputy Director Smoking Gun - There is a lot of finger pointing going on over the surprise move by Jerry Orr to free his airport from the grips of Charlotte and the potted plants known as Charlotte City Council.

But Cedar Posts has been telling you for months that a mutiny was underway. As far back as December 2011 CP posted details about the move to free CDIA from City of Charlotte control and the all out turf war between Orr and CMPD Chief Rodney Monroe. CP's post about Rodney vs Jerry is here.

A review of Airport Advisory Board minutes makes no mention of plans to wrangle control of the airport away from the city, but clearly the move was being discussed behind closed doors.

Now a recording of Deputy Manager Herbert Judon has surfaced where Judon reveals that the plan to form an Airport Authority was well underway back in early August. The recording provided to Cedar Posts is from the August 23, 2012 staff meeting. CP's prior post about Herbert Judon is here.
